City Fruit Cider Taste Legacy Cideries: Tieton Cider Works

This year we have 10 outstanding cideries coming to City Fruit’s 5th Annual Cider Taste Fundraiser on November 12th. To kick off our blog series, I’d like to introduce you to our four original Legacy Cider Makers who have been with us since our first cider taste event in 2010.

We would like to recognize and thank these cideries for their long term support of City Fruit year after year – their delicious ciders are not to be missed this November!
Tieton Cider Works
With 55 acres of land dedicated to cider apples and perry pears, Tieton Cider Works has the largest acreage of cider fruit in the state. This is no surprise – Craig and Sharon Campbell’s farm, Harmony Orchards, and tasting bar are located in the heart of Washington apple country in the Yakima Valley. The Campbells are steeped in the land and the art of growing apples – their land has been in the family since the 1920s, and Craig Campbell is a third generation farmer with a horticulture degree from Washington State University.

Craig Campbell began growing cider apples in 2008 when he planted 25 different varieties as a test to study their growing patterns. Tieton now grows 8 varieties commercially and produces 11 different ciders as well as special seasonal releases.
